Feelin' Good

Is it bad that I'm completely, without a doubt in love with my chiropractor?! Seriously....I LOVE him!! You know what kind of love I'm talking about here, not the I want to marry you and spend the rest of my life with you kinda love {I save that for my hubby} but the where have you been my whole life kinda love.

I have been to his office 3 times since last Monday and I can't wait to go to my appointment this afternoon to get stuff popped and stretched! He just makes me feel so...unbelievably good!! {and that fact the he is easy on the eyes has nothing to do with it :)}

My back has gotten significantly better since I started going there. He has been pushing the bone back into place, stretching it out and doing some popping on my back. Can I just say that I love the sound of my back popping when he does it! And the feeling is even better!! There is still some pain and there have been times when it the pain has been pretty bad but for the most part I am back to my normal self.

Well...almost back to my normal self. You see, he won't let me pop my neck anymore {that alone makes me want to hate him} and popping my neck is like my crack, I'm completely addicted to it. I couldn't even tell you how many times a day I do it and most of the time I do it without even realizing that I'm doing it. When I went there for my back we found that my neck is out of whack, instead of being straight it is slightly curved to the right {which come to find out is the cause of all my headaches}. Popping my neck helps me relieve all of that built up pressure and it feels oh so good but every time I do that it causes whatever it is in there to become weak. The weaker it gets the more my muscles tense up to compensate for the weakness and God knows I don't need anymore tenseness {is that even a word} than I already have! Now, I'm stuck doing some ridiculous exercises that don't feel as good as the popping & cracking that I'm use to.

So...even though my back is feeling much better, for the last week and a half I have really been struggling with not popping my neck! I have to admit that I'm pretty darn proud of myself though, I haven't done it once since Saturday. And it was a complete accident when I did it then, I wasn't even thinking about it until I heard the pop {but it felt sooo good}. Words can't explain how excited I am about my appointment this afternoon because he will be popping my neck for me and I will once again feel the pure goodness that I've been missing!!

Are you a chronic neck popper?! {if you are don't tell a chiropractor, they will make you stop!} Have any tips on what new habit I can start doing to take my mind off of popping my neck?!

Keegan's Big Boy Room

A couple of months ago we decided that it was time to get Keegan a new "big boy" bed since he was growing out of his toddler bed {it probably didn't help that he had like 100 stuffed animals on the bed also}.

Well along with getting a new bedroom set comes the task of redecorating...which I was sooo ready for! I had all sorts of ideas in my head as to what I wanted to do in his room. Then I finally decided what I wanted to do...his room has a transportation theme so to break up the light blue walls I was going to paint a "road" out of chalk board paint in the middle of the wall!! It was going to look amazing & I was so excited about it. Then we ended up getting black furniture so that idea went out the window. I'm not going to lie, I was pretty bummed about not having the chalk board road on the walls but it would have been too much black with the furniture.

What I really needed was something for the wall next to his bed where there was a big open spot that wasn't there before {the crib converted into the toddler bed so the back was high}.

See what I'm talking about? The big open space between the pictures and the bed {on the same wall as the window} so doesn't look right!

Then....I thought of the perfect solution! I would get some type of vinyl saying to put up there!! I am absolutely in love with these things and already have some in the family room and dining room. Then I came across this company called Trading Phrases {check out their website}. O.M.G. I fell in love with pretty much everything they have...I could see a potential obsession forming because of this company!! LOL They have such a wide variety of sayings and pictures that there is honestly something for everyone! And, if they don't have exactly what you are looking for...the do custom orders too!! Not to mention that they have tons of colors to choose from also!!

I did some searching and found exactly what that empty space needed! I went home that night measured the wall, decided on a size that would fit the space perfectly and ordered it the next day! As soon as I got it in the mail I immediately went into his room and started putting it up...I'm pretty sure dinner wasn't made that night either...I was just way too anxious to get this thing on the wall!! Are you dying to know what I got?!?! Is the suspense just killing you?!?! {Even if it isn't, just act like it, it will make me feel better! :)}

Well...I won't make you wait any longer...here it is

This is what it looks like before you actually stick it on the wall. It says "planes, trains, and automobiles..." and has an airplane, helicopter, train and car to go with it! It was actually all one big piece when I got it but I cut the pictures out so I could place them exactly where I wanted them! I have to say, it was extremely easy to put up also, even on our textured walls! I've bought other vinyl saying from the stores and lets just say they weren't nearly as easy to put up {one of them might have been ripped off of the wall half way through putting in up out of frustration on night...whoops!}.

And here is the final product! It turned out sooo good and it was the perfect touch for that empty spot! Keegan wasn't as excited about it as I was but I know he appreciated the extra little something I added to his room! The only problem with it...one day when he was suppose to be taking a nap he decided to play with it! He took a couple of letters off and stuck them onto the car, it read "planes, trains, and t mobiles..."!! Luckily Ryan was able to get the letters off and put them back where they belonged!

Since I loved the above saying so much I decided to check out the website again...they didn't have what I was looking for so I sent them an email and was able to get something custom made for the small spot next to his closet door.

We actually use this space to mark his height but it still needed a little something there. They worked with me in making it the exact height & width that I wanted and after multiple emails back and forth between us and a couple changes a long the way we finally came up with this!

And now there is a stop light, which can double as a growth chart....LOVE it!! I haven't decided yet if I want to paint the colors inside of the circle or not so for now it still looks like this!

There are still a couple more finishing touches that I need to add to his room and then I will show you the whole thing!!

Birthday Present Stress

A couple of weeks ago I went to Toys R Us to buy Keegan's birthday present. I already knew what I was going to get since Ryan & I were there the week before with Keegan looking around. We decided to get him a new four wheeler since he is getting way too big for the 2 that he already has!

Since it is a big item you can't just grab it off the shelf so I grabbed the slip out of the little holder and took it up to the register to buy it. They were out of stock so I had to special order it. No biggie, it would only take 7-10 days to come in and his birthday was still a month away. I paid for the four wheeler and went on my way.

It came in a couple of days later but we never had the chance to go pick it up until last Thursday. Ryan picked it up for me {he wasn't with me when I bought it} and when he got home he said "I thought it would have regular four wheeler handles on it, not a steering wheel". My face automatically adjusted to the "what in the hell are you talking about" look and I assured him that it doesn't have a steering wheel and he said it did! I went into the garage to look at it and it was the WRONG thing!! I was mad livid, like steam coming out of my ears livid...I couldn't believe they gave us the wrong thing, not to mention it is non-refundable!!

Well...it turns out I bought the wrong thing BUT it totally wasn't my fault! You see they had the wrong slip in the holder so I thought I bought the four wheeler and I really didn't. On Saturday morning I took it to Toys R Us first thing in the morning and asked if I could exchange it for what I thought I bought in the first place. I figured it wouldn't hurt to take the chance and they were the same price so the whole "non-refundable" thing wouldn't be an issue! I told the lady the story of what happened and she said "oh that's no problem, let me check and see if we have any in stock!" Words can't explain how relieved I was to hear that and better yet they had 3 in stock so I got to take the four wheeler home with me!! And even better...the four wheeler was on sale so she gave me money back for the difference and I left the store with $53 in my pocket!! Maybe the whole mix up was a good thing! :)

There it is...his new big boy four wheeler! {battery operated of course...this momma doesn't trust a 3 year old with a real one yet!}

Weekend Wrap Up

Another weekend has come & gone and Monday has entered our lives once again! Have I ever mentioned how much I dislike Mondays? Well...I really do, besides Dancing With The Stars there is nothing about Monday that I look forward to {well that and catching up on all of the posts I missed over the weekend}!

We had a crazy busy weekend and all I really want to do is sit down, take a deep breath and relax! I guess that will have to wait though...we have lots of stuff to do in the next couple of weeks!!

On Saturday Keegan got his 3 year pictures taken and the weather was bea.u.tiful., I seriously couldn't have asked for better weather! Keegan did SO good with the pictures too {which completely surprised the heck out of me}! I am so excited to see all of them...I mean between leaves, a creek, a corn field, one of the best photographers ever & an adorable little boy the pictures are bound to come out amazing! And from the sounds that I was hearing during the hour & a half there will probably be somewhere close to 21453 pictures to look at! Don't worry, I will share them with you whenever I get the first chance to!! :)

On Sunday we headed to the dreadful Lowe's...ok it's not actually dreadful but I would much rather of been at Target for 2 hours instead of that place!! Yep...we were there for 2 whole hours...let's just say I was more than ready to go when we got out of there! But the trip was a success, we ended up buying the carpet for our basement!! WOOHOO!!! I was really wanting to be able to get the new carpet in before Keegan's birthday party in two weeks and now it seems like it just might happen! We are now thisclose to being done with the basement...well besides to toy room part that we haven't really done anything with yet but that won't take too long to finish!! I'm so ready to be able to walk down the stairs onto a new plush carpet {not to mention being able to walk down there without shoes on...you don't want to do that right now} and be able to enjoy all of the hard work that we Ryan has put into redoing the space!

When we got home I had just enough time to fold some laundry, clean up the house a little bit, and sit down for about 20 minutes before it was time to go again. We decided to go to Waterloo to my sister-in-law's house to go trick or treating & eat some yummy chili...well we do that every year so there wasn't too much to decide on. Keegan was so excited about trick or treating this year and couldn't wait to get his costume on!

Meet my little cowboy, his name is Woody! {I know the picture is a little dark but it works!}

Isn't he the cutest cowboy EVER!!

I have to say...I was very surprised as to how good Keegan did with the trick or treating! He tends to be pretty shy and it can take him a while to warm up to new things but not when it came to getting some candy!! At the first house we went to he let the other kids go first but after that it was a race to each house! He would either run or do a really fast walk and would literally pound on the door! LOL And after getting candy at every house he would say "we go to the next house now?" It was pretty funny and I'm so happy that he enjoyed it and did so good with it!!

Here is his bag that we used for trick or treating...he of course had to use a Toy Story bag to match his costume {which I'm sure he could of cared less about but I liked it!}. It is a regular size reusable bag that you can buy at pretty much every store so it is a pretty good size bag for candy.....

and now it is half way full of candy!!

I don't know how he is going to eat all of that...I guess mommy and daddy will just have to help!! :)
