our weekend in a nutshell

I hope everyone had a great weekend....we had a pretty good one around our house!!

On Saturday Ryan & I had a day date. We usually try to have date night at least once a month so we can enjoy a dinner that doesn't consist of kids menus or plastic forks!! For this month we did something a little different...ziplining!! I found a good deal through Groupon {if you don't know what this is check out the site} and since we both have always wanted to try it I decided to snatch up the offer. We headed out early in the morning {6:45 to be exact} and took our 1 1/2 hour drive to some where in the middle of nowhere in Missouri. It was a lot of fun and I wasn't as nervous as I thought I would be...Ryan even said he was proud of how good I did!! When we got home I decided to go shopping for some new winter clothes since basically none of mine from last year fit. I spent way too much money but the damage definitely could have been a lot worse!! I was greeted by a great surprise when I got home from my shopping trip...the smell of brand spankin' new carpet!! I'm soooo happy to say that the carpet is officially in and we can now walk downstairs barefoot and not have to worry about stepping on who knows what!!

Sunday was kind of a lazy day...which happens to be my favorite type of day!! :) I did get some cleaning done and the majority of the laundry finished {minus the two baskets of clean clothes that still need to be folded} however I think by the end of the night the house was more trashed then it was when I started cleaning....ugh!! Looks like I have a lot to do before the big birthday party this weekend!! Since the weather was so nice yesterday Ryan raked up all the leaves and Keegan got to enjoy playing in them. I think he like running over the big piles with his jeep more than jumping in them though!

Three of my favorite things that happened this weekend:

1. Keegan wore big boy under all day yesterday and only had 1 accident!! He went to "school" today with them on and I'm very anxious to find out how he does!!

2. The carmel corn that I bought {and totally forgot about} from the boy scouts was delivered to our house!

3. While getting out pictures to put up in the basement last night Keegan saw a picture from our wedding day, he said "Look Mommy you were a princess!"...could he get any cuter?!?! Totally made my day week, it still makes me smile to think about it!! {and yes I got a little teary eyed when he said it!!}
