We had a good weekend and it actually turned out to be some what of a productive weekend too! {sometimes my laziness gets in the way of the productive part happening}
Friday was pretty simple, I had bunco with the girls and the boys stayed home and did boy stuff...at least I'm guessing they did boy stuff because I don't really know what they did.
Saturday was the big day....Ryan's 29th birthday. Yep, he is in the last year of his twenty's and as much as he likes to act like it doesn't bother him, I think it kinda does! Before heading out for the night though we actually got some stuff done around the house. Ryan painted the ceiling in the toy room and I finally got around to taking all of the Christmas stuff down. Why is it that it comes down so much faster than it goes up?! Not to mention my house looks a little blah now....I think I need to go on a shopping trip and put my 394057 Bed Bath & Beyond coupons to good use!! We got all cleaned up and Keegan went over to Grandma & Grandpa's then he headed out with the Deterding's to celebrate Ryan's birthday.
We ended up eating at the Burger Bar {which is inside of the Lumiere} and let me just say that it was delish!! They have this garlic mayo stuff that is to die for...seriously, I wish I could have taken some home with me! The also had zucchini fries that were ah.maz.ing...just thinking about them makes me want more! I insisted that we get dessert too, I mean what kind of birthday is it without a dessert?! We got the chocolate burger and it was the cutest thing ever! I wish I would have remembered to take a picture of it before we disassembled it but sadly my camera didn't leave my purse all night. Let me try to explain it for it....it was made out of donuts, fruit and some kind chocolate fudge stuff and it looked exactly like a cheeseburger. The donut was the bun, the fudge was the burger, kiwi as a pickle, passion fruit as the cheese, strawberries as the tomatoes, and mint as the lettuce. Seriously, it was adorable! After dinner we headed to the casino part to do a little gambling, no one hit the jackpot but Travis did end up winning $320!! I thought the birthday boy would of had some good luck but apparently not! After the "big win" we decided we should stop there and headed out and stopped at a couple of bars on the way home. It was a good night with some good friends that we don't get to see nearly enough.
On Sunday Ryan decided it was time to take the Christmas lights down that we had up on the outside of the house...Christmas is officially over at the Pflueger house. We also got around to painting the toy room!!! It is now red hot! Before we even started painting I told Ryan that we needed to get some primer because painted white walls with red paint isn't a very good idea. He decided that we didn't need primer because it wouldn't make any difference so he painted to small walls {on Saturday} and needless to say he wen to the store on Sunday morning to get grey primer....I was right again! After using a whole gallon of primer we took on the challenge of the red paint and after just one coat it already looked better than it did without the primer. We ended up using almost two whole gallons of the red and I'm pretty happy with the results {I know you are dying to see it but you are going to have to wait for another post}! We still have what seems like 394585 things left on the list to do before the room is finished but at least the painting is done!
Ryan has been wanting to try a deep fried turkey for some time now and yesterday was the day that he finally got around to it! He set everything up in the garage since it was so cold out and now not only does the garage smell like fried food so does my car!! We seasoned the turkey with some Cajun marinade and it was soooo good...and that is coming from a non-turkey lover! It was definitely spicy but oh so good!
There it is right after it came out of the fryer!!
That pretty much sums up our weekend...besides the usual 39587 loads of laundry that I did. Hope everyone had a great weekend and lets hope that this week goes by super fast!!

I have never had deep fried Turkey but that looks awesome. I am seriuosly going to have to find a recipe and give it a shot.
Mmmm...Nicole and I are going to deep fry a turkey. His name is Victor.
There's really no recipe for it, you just have to make sure you have a turkey fryer! We used a turkey marinade that we got at Rural King and just injected it in between the skin and the meat...it took about an hour for 13 pounds! It was so freakin juicy too...I think that's why I liked it so much!
LOL Heather...I like how you named your turkey!
