Not too long ago I mentioned something about buying 75 watt light bulbs for our basement. {Heather this post is for you!} It turns out 75 watts is a bit too bright for down there and it probably has something to do with how many lights we have....in case you were wondering, we have 16 and that number surprised some people. You see, when we bought the house there were only a couple of those old fluorescent lights up but when we renovated the space Ryan put can lights in so of course we needed more than just a couple so it wouldn't be so dark and basementy looking.
So here is a breakdown of the lighting situation...
eight lights over the living room/extra little nook area
So here is a breakdown of the lighting situation...
eight lights over the living room/extra little nook area
six lights over the bar area
two lights at the bottom of the stairs {there is a light at the top of the stairs also but I didn't include that one in the total number}
That gives us 16 lights but if we include the toy room then we have a total of 22 lights. And just in case anyone was wondering...we took the 75 watt bulbs back to the store because we totally needed sunglasses with them in and got a smaller wattage {is it said that I don't remember what it is...I think we got 60 but I could totally be wrong}.

Geez...I was about to go gray waiting for this post!! It makes sense now...your basement is quite large...you should tell people that when you say you're buying 16 lightbulbs for all of the lights in ONE ROOM!! :)
