2 Months & 2 Cans of Corn

After having Carson I thought that all of the baby weight would magically disappear since I was going to be breastfeeding. Oh how I was so wrong about that, so so wrong. Granted I did lose a good chunk of the baby weight but once I got to 157 the number stayed there and the scale wasn't moving...at all. So much for breastfeeding to help lose weight....and to those that bf and actually do lose weight, you suck & I'm super jealous of you!! I felt and looked fat, nothing that I owned fit me and I refused to buy clothes in sizes that I've never worn before in my life so I decided to actually try to lose weight for once instead of just complaining about the way I looked. The only problem was that I had a streak of starting something similar and it only lasting a couple days, maybe a week, so I needed to find something that I would/could stick with.

I starting using myfitnesspal and keeping tracking of my calories. And when I say keeping track of my calories, I mean every little thing that went into my mouth I entered it in. Even if it was just one powdered donut. I starting looking at serving sizes and calories on every single thing, which also meant that I started measuring or weighing every single thing. No joke, every time I put butter on my toast I measure it out first. My measuring cups/spoons have never been used more. Hopefully it will get to the point where I don't need to measure or weigh everything but for right now I do because it's working. I also started switching little things, like whole wheat bread instead of white, ground turkey {on occasions} instead of ground beef, light mayo instead of the real {good} stuff and the 90 calorie Fiber One brownies instead of the oh so amazing Little Debbie ones. After the first week of counting calories & measuring everything I lost 2 pounds....2 pounds in one week!! That was the kind of immediate change I needed to keep me motivated...well that and people saying things about how much weight I've lost and the hubby telling me that he is proud of me!

That was 2 months ago and I have lost 17 pounds so far...only 5 more to go until my goal weight!! And I gotta say, I'm pretty proud of myself for sticking with it and making a change for the better. I still eat things that I love like tacos, spaghetti, sloppy joes, cheeseburgers and well pretty much everything, I just cook it a little healthier and watch how much I'm eating of it. The hardest part of it all is without a doubt, self control. Especially when you have a husband and a 4 year who eat whatever they want, whenever they want but seeing how much I could weigh after completing my "diary" everyday keeps me motivated.

Clothes are fitting better and I'm more comfortable with myself but I feel like I still look like I weigh more than I actually do so I need to start actually working out too {besides going on walks} so I can tighten and firm things up...specifically this belly that my two wonderful children have ever so kindly helped me get! That's where Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred comes into play. I've had it for years but have actually done it once and after seeing the results that this lady got from doing it I decided to suck it up and try it out.

Last night was the first time that I did it and holy crap, I thought I was going to die! Ryan was pretty much laughing at how out of breath I was just from doing those damn jumping jacks......I despise jumping jacks!! I managed to survive through all 20 minutes of it and actually already did it this morning for day 2. Not going to lie though, I thought I was seriously going to die today and those bitches on the video don't even break out in a sweat. The "beginner" chick's abs were all shiny at one point but I'm pretty sure they just rubbed some oil on them to make it look like she was sweating. And my trusty hand weights while doing this....

Two cans of corn! I don't have any actual hand weights and it's better than nothing...not to mention that my arms are a little sore from using these! I'm determined to finish the whole 30 days, without skipping any days. Maybe if I do, I will let myself use one of these babies...

I'm it....

Well, well, well....guess you thought you would never see one of these from me again huh?! I'm pretty sure that I win the worst blogger award all around. Not going to lie, I just haven't felt like blogging and this is my first time on blogger since I don't know when. I still read other blogs like crazy but I do it all from my phone, usually while feeding Carson or pumping, which is also why I don't comment on other blogs anymore either.

BUT....I'm starting to kinda miss blogging and I'm thinking that I want to start doing it again on a somewhat regular basis {not making any promises though} and what better way to get back into things than getting tagged from Heather and having to answer some questions. {I'm going to attempt to add her fancy dancy button that she has now....here is my apology in advance if it doesn't work Heather!!}

Onto the questions:

1. If you could pick any career in the world to have, what would it be?
hmmm....I'm not really sure but I think it would be fun to be an interior decorator. What's better than getting paid to spend other people's money?!

2. Do you think I have a chance with Adam Levine?
Absofreakinlutely! And if it does ever happen I need you to promise me that I can touch his abs whenever I want! ;)

3. Would you ever consider living abroad?
If I was single with no kids, absolutely but since I'm married with kids not so much.

4. If you could change something about your home, for free, what would it be?
Everything....is getting a new house an option?!

5. Are you a glass half empty or half full kind of person?
Definitely depends on what kind of mood I'm in but usually half full.

6. What was the last trophy you won?
I don't think I've ever gotten a trophy.....

7. If you won the lottery, who would you tell first?
hmmm....probably Ryan....or my mom

8. Would you rather raise your kids in the city or country?
This is something I keep going back & forth on. I can see the advantages & disadvantages of both and I have no clue which one I want to do!

9. If there was no one to see what kind of car you drove, would you still drive what you have or something cheaper?
I would keep what I have.

10. What inspires you?
My boys would be the obvious answer but I think my mom does the most.

11. What song would you sing in the shower right now?
Honestly....the backyardigans theme song. It's the last "song" that I heard and I have it stuck in my head.

According to the rules, I'm suppose to tag 11 people & come up with 11 questions for them to answer but since eveyr single person I would tag has already been tagged I'm not going to do that....not to mention I have typed most of this with only one hand & it's starting to hurt! Thanks for tagging me Heather!!

my new best friend

Santa brought me what I like to consider a new bff and I honestly don't know how I survived without it before! Ok, that might be a little dramatic because I was surely able to survive {barely} before but still, I am in love!! The best part about it was that I was actually surprised when I opened it! I had absolutely no idea that I was getting it {which is odd, I usually have to pick out my own presents}....Santa did good, he did real good {even if he had a little help from my mom}!

ahhhh....did you hear the angels singing when you saw the picture?!?! No, maybe it's just me then! I always wanted a Keurig but let's be honest, they are on the pricey side of things and I already had a coffee maker, therefore I never thought I would get one. I don't think there has been one day that I haven't used this thing, it is sooo easy & convenient. Right now my favorite K-cup flavors are Mudslide, Kahlua & Butter Toffee. I also have the sweet tea & the french vanilla iced coffee....they are both ok, nothing too spectacular about either one of them.
Even though I have been drinking flavored coffee, I can't not put creamer in it. What can I say, I'm just a creamer kind of girl, it adds extra flavor & helps cool the coffee down a little faster so I can drink it right away! I have always been a french vanilla kind of girl but here recently I've ventured out and have found two new must have creamers!

Italian Sweet Cream & Belgian Chocolate Toffee. The only thing I can really say about either of them is yummy!! I highly recommend both of them....so if you are a creamer type of person go buy some of this stuff, seriously!

Do you have a Keurig?! If so what are your favorite flavors? I'm dying to try some new ones!!

What I've been up to...

I completely forgot how time consuming a newborn is, for the past five weeks my days have consisted of sleeping, nursing or pumping/feeding, changing diapers, laundry, trying to catch up on housework plus all of the holiday stuff thrown into the mix! I'm lucky if I actually sit down to get on the computer once or twice a week...hence the lack of posts! I have been able to keep up with everyone's blogs though, thanks to late night feedings and my phone....which is always why I haven't commented on any posts in for.ev.er....in fact I couldn't even tell you what any of the blogs look like anymore because it has been soooo long since I have read any using the computer!

I'm going to really try to step it up a bit and start posting on a regular basis again!
