So What!

This week I'm linking up with the oh so lovely Shannon over at L.A.I.D. for a little So What! Wednesday action.

So what if....

*Carson is currently sitting on the floor, by my feet in between the couch & ottoman. It's gotta be boring sitting there doing nothing but he seems to be happy & he's not crying, which is all that matters.

*I ate three mini sugar cookies immediately after writing this post.

*this was my lunch on Friday
Momma was craving Taco Bell something fierce & I needed to make sure I liked the lime-a-ritas before bunco that night.

*I stayed up until 2:15 in the morning the other night reading Fifty Shades Darker. Seriously could not stop reading and I had no idea that it was that late until Ryan yelled out into the living room asking if I knew what time it was. Good news is that 1. I finished the book that night and 2. Carson slept until 8 the next morning so I was able to get some sleep.

*90% of the time my children are wearing the least amount of clothes possible when we are at home. For some reason Keegan always ends up taking his shirt off and Carson is usually wearing just a onesie.

*I made a onesie for a one month on and it included a cuss word...

He can't read anyways!

*I really, really want to go somewhere for a weekend....without the kids. Love them, love spending time with them but I need some time away from them!

What are you saying so what to this week?!

So We Meet Again

So yesterday I had an interview, which meant that I needed to get my "work" pants out and see which ones would actually fit me. I grabbed a couple different pairs to try on, each on a different size. I put the biggest size on first, not going to happen, way too big. Then I put the middle size on, they fit but they didn't look flattering at all. I was debating if I wanted to put the smallest size on or not because I knew if I did and they didn't fit I would just be pissed about 1. them not fitting & 2. having to wear pants that made me look like crap. Well much to my surprise I put them on and they fit!!

This is a BIG deal people!! I was able to wear a size 4....the same size 4 that did not fit at all before I got pregnant with Carson!!! I didn't want to take them off & I thought about even sleeping in them but then I came back to reality and knew that wasn't a good idea!

All of the counting calories and watching everyone else around me enjoy eating whatever they want, whenever they want is definitely paying off!!

Enjoying Life

I had every intention to do a so what Wednesday post before lunch but I've been a little preoccupied.

Maybe I'll do one later....and if not, so what!

Holes in the Wall

After living in our house for 2.5 years I have finally gotten around to doing some decorating. I've had some things up on the walls for quite awhile now but some rooms have definitely been lacking in the cuteness factor. One room in particular is what I call the "front room" or as Keegan likes to call it "his living room".

This is the room that you first walk into from the front door but we don't actually use it as our living room where we spend the majority of our time and where we watch TV at. When we first moved in, we put our old couch, a storage trunk and a TV in there because we had nowhere else to put them and that is pretty much how it has stayed. Over time I did add a little side table and a hall tree that my aunt gave me but that was pretty much the extent of any decorations, besides one picture frame on the wall. I've always wanted to do something in there but could never figure out what to do, until last week.

Thanks to pinterest I have been wanting to do some kind of picture wall in the house but never knew how I wanted it or where I wanted to put it. Out of nowhere last week I decided that I was going to put one up in the front room. I went straight downstairs and started going through a big box of picture frames that I have never unpacked since we moved in and started making a big pile of anything I thought I might want to put up.

Once I got everything ready I started playing around with the layout of it on the floor. That was probably what took me the longest. I can't even tell you how many times I changed pictures around until I was finally happy with the way they were arranged.

Then I took a newspaper and made a template of all of the frames and taped them up on the wall.

Yes, that would be blue painter's tape that I used to keep the paper up with. It was the first thing I saw when I was grabbing the rest of the stuff I needed. I decided not to use paper for the words because I figured it would of been a pain in the ass to do so I just nailed those up right away.

Once I got all of the paper up in the spots where I wanted them I went to work with the nails. To make sure that I put the nails in the right spots {and to try to prevent too many extra nail holes in the wall} I measured the spot of the hanging thing {what is the real name of those things?} then marked it on the paper. Once I hammered the nail in I ripped the paper down and hung the frame up.

I'm sooo happy with the way that it turned out! There is still plenty of room to add to it if I want to in the future...which I probably will. I'm thinking I need something on the far right, under the mirror, it's looking a little empty in that spot. Not to toot my own horn or anything but I gotta say I'm pretty proud of myself for doing and getting everything up straight! And for the amount of things I put up I only had like 4 or 5 extra holes in the wall!

Now, I just need to add pictures to the empty frames.....no idea when I will get that accomplished though. I mean I just put pictures in a big collage frame that's been hanging in the basement for two years!

Who Needs Sleep?

Ahh, Monday morning. Who doesn't love getting up bright and early on a Monday morning. I for one do not, however my children both decided that they needed to wake up before 6 this morning. I'm not exactly sure what time Keegan actually got up but when I heard Carson at 5:50 this morning Keegan was already playing Mario Kart. So by 7:50 this morning Carson had 2 bottles, a container of baby food and was already down for his morning nap, while Keegan had already ate breakfast and was on his 1973684 different game on the wii and I was on my second cup of coffee {I usually on drink one a day}, ate breakfast, unloaded & loaded the dishwasher and picked stuff up around the house. Now here I sit in front of the computer drinking my coffee and fantasizing about being cuddled up in my bed getting some shut eye while in reality I really need to get a ton of picture frames off of the floor before another one gets sat on.

Up on all fours rocking back & forth....slow down!!
Let's do a little recap of our weekend since I can't manage to think of anything else to share with all of you!

Friday was a pretty typical night for us, we stayed home, I didn't cook and we all played way too much Super Mario Bros. I can't decide if I want to love or hate that game. We actually rented it from red box on Wednesday and decided to keep longer than a day because Ryan & I were too consumed with playing it and trying to beat the different levels. I don't know how people can play video games for a long period of time, my thumbs hurt for two days straight! Back to Friday night, while Keegan was playing we had the following conversation:

K: stupid fireballs
M: we really shouldn't say words like that
K: can we say fuckin?
M: what?!
K: fuckin
M: umm.....NO!!

Someone has been listening to their father a little too much!!

going for a jeep ride
Saturday I went shopping with my step-mom to help her pick some stuff out for their house. Can I just say that I love shopping for home decor things! I seriously could have bought half of hobby lobby but I refrained from doing so because the wrath of Ryan isn't worth it. I did however by Keegan some new letters for his room, you know to put his name up on his wall, and when I got I home I realized that I didn't get an "n". What I thought was the "n" turned out to be a "u", thank you to whoever decided to put the "u" in the wrong spot, I greatly appreciate it.

Yesterday, of course was mother's day and my one request was to sleep in. I request this every year and I always get woken up for breakfast, which is nice but I told Ryan to not wake me up at all, even if they made breakfast, I just wanted to sleep. I did manage to stay in bed until 10:15 but I didn't get to sleep the whole time because I was woken up about every 20 minutes to Carson crying & screaming. Thankfully I got him to take a nap when I got out of bed, guess he just wanted his mommy! The rest of the day was spent just being kinda lazy and spending time with family. I of course ended my day with the series finale of Desperate Housewives...which is so sad. I've watched every single episode since the show started, I really don't know what I'm going to do on Sunday nights now!

My mother's day present from Keegan

He told Ryan that he wanted to get me that so I can play catch with him and I gotta say, he did a good job, it's a really cute glove!

Yeah, So What!

Today I'm linking up with Shannon over at L.A.I.D. for her So What! Wednesday. I pretty much stalk her blog {and possibly her instagram now too} but I've never linked up with her because I was stuck in that whole stalker vibe mode but I decided that it was well overdue to join in on the fun!

So what if...

*I let Carson cry himself to sleep when it's nap time every once in a while & I don't feel bad about it. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to scar him for the rest of his life just because he sheds some tears. I do feel bad for his poor little face when he does end up falling asleep though, he is usually laying in a puddle of slobber by then!

*I don't eat my waffles with a fork. I don't but syrup on them anymore and they are usually loaded with a bunch of fruit on top so it's just easier to pick 'em up and eat them that way.

*Carson is only 5 months old and we have already gone through one bottle of infant Tylenol & a bottle of infant Advil. Teething is a bitch and whatever makes him feel better is fine by me. Not to mention about half of the bottles ended up on his clothes because he refuses to swallow all of it.

*Keegan wears his clothes from the day to bed at night the majority of the time. Making him put pajamas on at night is one battle I don't want to fight.

*I complain about not getting enough sleep even though I usually don't go to bed anytime before 11. Those couple of hours at night after everyone is in bed is my favorite time of the day!

*I was super happy when my obgyn acknowledged my weight loss {even if their scale was 2lbs more than mine}, it totally made my day!

*I ate a pound of bacon last week, it was damn good.

*I plan on going grocery shopping tonight instead of going during the day today. Two kids + grocery shopping = not a fun time.

What are you saying so what to today?!

And I'm Back

Today I'm back to the grind of things. I decided to give myself a break from pretty much everything last week. Seriously, everything....I didn't cook much, I didn't do any laundry or cleaning, I didn't count calories or even attempt to watch what I was eating, I didn't open the computer which lead to no blogging.

Last week was full of birthday parties, a wedding, baseball games, margaritas, food, beer, friends, family, new stoves, and of course instagram.

Last weekend my grandpa got married! I couldn't be happier for him, and Betty of course too. He deserves nothing more than to be happy in life and he has finally reached that point again, which definitely makes my heart smile. I'm not going to lie, it was a little hard just for the fact that it made me miss my grandma a little more than usual but I think that is a little expected, but I adore Betty and am very happy that she is a part of our family now. The wedding was really nice and I'm sure that they are both ecstatic that it is finally over! Keegan was the ring bearer and was beyond excited to walk down the aisle, until he got cold feet right before the wedding which then led to some hysterical crying on his part and me walking down the aisle with him. I was very persistant at the rehearsal that I was not going to walk down with him if he chickened out but he had the rings tied onto his pillow, he had to get down there somehow!

I of course was a bad photographer that day and didn't take a whole lot of pictures but here are a few.

Ceremony

Reception

And the only picture I have with all four of us in it....plus my mom & brother.

We went to the baseball game last week and had amazing seats! Seriously, I want to sit there every.single.time I go to a game. For a $60 ticket we got our seat {which wasn't a regular fold down seat, we had chairs that pulled out & a little table in front of us}, free beer & free food all night!! Um, does it get much better than that? Don't think so! I of course decided that I needed to take full advantage of the free food & beer deal, which lead to drinking a countless number of beers & eating almost 3 full hot dogs, two servings of cole slaw, a cookie, a brownie, tons of nachos and a couple bites of  beef brisket. Told you I wasn't counting calories!! And can I just throw this out there, the ball park had some of the best cole slaw I have ever eaten in my entire life....and I didn't even know they had cole slaw there!

I'm not positive but it is a good possibility that I ate just as much or even a little more than the guys. What can I say, I was enjoying eating whatever the hell I wanted to and there is nothing better than nachos & hot dogs at the ball park!!

I'll leave you with some recent instagram pics!

One more thing...it is ridiculous how excited I am about getting a new stove/oven. However, not so excited that I'm letting Ryan count it as a mother's day gift...which he did try to do.
