Is it wierd....

*that I still have the pregnancy tests I took at the beginning of this pregnancy?

*that one of my biggest pet peeves is when the drawers on a dresser aren't closed all the way? Seriously can't stand it, drives me insane....and my husband does it every.single.day of his life. {and yes, I take the extra couple of seconds out of my day to close them}

*that I'm obsessed with looking at this picture...

yes....a picture of myself. I just can't stop looking at that baby belly for some reason.

*that it has gotten to the point that Keegan will now ask me to pick his boogers because he knows that I'm going to do it anyway? {another pet peeve: kids with dirty noses}

*that I called and rescheduled my next dr appointment because I don't like the dr that I was suppose to see? I saw him once, wasn't impressed at all and just wasn't comfortable seeing him again with the issues that Carson is having with his kidney. {aka: I was afraid he wouldn't order another ultrasound if it is needed}

*that the only kind of orange juice that I will drink is Sunny D {only the smooth style though}?

*that I'm also obsessed with looking at the pics from the last ultrasound I had done?

*that I won't share any of the Christmas gift ideas that I have recently come up with for Keegan & Carson with anyone else? What is Santa going to bring them if I give all my ideas away?!

*that I like to eat mayo & ketchup only with Burger King fries?

*that I'm pretty much counting down the days until all of the new shows start this fall? I can't wait for "Up All Night" & "The Playboy Club". Seriously, this clip is hilarious!!

is that a smurf?!

On Saturday we decided to head up to Columbia for the parade since it wasn't too hot outside {aka: I wouldn't bitch too much about being hot}. While waiting for the parade to start Keegan got a snocone....a blue snocone....which means he turned blue, well his mouth did.

If I had a dollar for every time a person that was walking/handing out candy in the parade said "did you know you have a blue mouth" to Keegan & his cousin, I could have made a decent amount of money during the parade!

This was after I got a little of the blue off!

This one made me laugh.....he was covering his ears while all of the sirens from the fire trucks were going off...

All he needs is a little more blue on his face & a hat and he could be Papa Smurf!!

baby no name

....is no longer baby no name!!!

That's right, little man finally has a name!! Honestly, I can't believe that I got Ryan to finally choose a name because all along every single time we have talked about names his response is "why worry about it now, we have like 17 weeks left to figure it out"....to say that I was getting frustrated with him would be an understatement! Well the other night the name topic came up and we decided that we were going to figure it out so we didn't have to talk about it anymore.

We had it narrowed down to three names {after the list of names changed about 38766 times}:

Hayden, Carson & Jacob

We didn't decide on the name that night but we did narrow it down to only two names, we decided to nix Jacob {even though that is Ryan's grandpa's middle name & I thought it would be cute to use it} and we already knew what the middle was going to be {after my grandpa}. We both decided to sleep on it because neither one of us could decide which one we liked better, even though Keegan had his favorite picked out.

Fast forward two days and I was doing what any pregnant woman would be doing when trying to decide on a name.....I was writing them both down to see how they looked!! When Ryan got home we started talking about names again & I told him that he had to pick one....and once he did we weren't having the conversation again! After going back & forth between the two names for about half an hour he finally decided on one and now little man's name is......

Carson Charles

Words can't explain how happy I am that I can now stop saying "him" or "little man" or "your brother" or "the baby" every.single.time I'm talking about him...I can finally start saying Carson!! Do you know what else this means?!?! I can start getting some personalized things for his room and finally get letters so I can put them up on the wall!!!

Confession Friday

I know, I know, you are just as shocked as I am that I'm actually doing a confession Friday!! Don't ask how long it has been since I've done one because I honestly have no clue!

I confess that I actually went for a walk this morning! GASP!! The really only reason why I did it was because the temperature was still only 72 and Keegan loves riding his bike so I decided to take advantage of the weather. However, little man in my belly must not of liked it too much because I had a killer cramp in my stomach/side towards the end of the walk.....

I confess that not only did I go for a walk but I also wore tennis shoes....I couldn't even tell you the last time I wore them and today totally confirmed how much I hate wearing them! My feet get soooo hot and sweaty pretty much instantly & I can't stand it when my feet are hot!

I confess that the more I thought about my 5.5 pound weight gain in the past month the more I'm blaming it on the fact that I was wearing my shoes when I got on the scale, flip flops weigh like 2 pounds right?!?! I mean it surely wasn't from eating a dozen donut holes at one time or a whole box of star crunches in a couple of days or polishing off a whole bag of salt & vinegar chips by myself in 2 two days or eating two bowls of cereal as a snack after eating supper or getting a large french fry at whatever fast food restaurant we would go to & eating every single one of them or eating left over pizza for breakfast & lunch for almost a week....it definitely couldn't have been from any of that, it was definitely from the flip flops!! :)

I confess that I went shopping yesterday with the sole purpose of getting a gift card for blogger bunco tonight.....guess what the one thing was that I didn't buy?! So I sent Ryan to get one on his way home yesterday & when I saw what he got the only thing I could say was "seriously?"....then he laughed and said "isn't it hilarious?!"....no, not really!!

I confess that if I don't find what I want to get at the baby sale tomorrow after having to get up at 5 AM I'm going to be one super crabby preggo & Ryan will get the joy of putting up with it while we are stuck in the car for a couple of hours!!

I confess that even though I really, really love Keegan and the stage that he is in right now, I can't wait for the non-talking stage with the new baby!! Seriously, Keegan might be shy & quiet around other people but he does not stop talking at home or in the car!!

I confess that I'm really kinda enjoying that Ryan has been getting home at 4 instead of 6:30 every day since he has school this week & next week even though I've been busted once or twice for taking a nap when he got home!

I confess that I finally got some new bras that actually fit {after buying like 20 of the wrong sizes} and you would never guess where I got them at......Lane Bryant!! Surprised?! I never would have thought of going there until I saw a commercial of theirs and they mentioned what size they go up to and unless I go to a specialty bra store I couldn't find my size anywhere!! You should of seen the looks I got when I walked in there though....hilarious!! The bras are the most comfortable things I have ever worn in my life though....I think I might get my bras from there from now on!!

Ok, that's enough out of me, I need to get back to cleaning & finishing up the laundry....we are going out of town tomorrow so I need to get everything done today since I will be leaving at 5:45 to go the baby sale before we head out {again, I better find what I'm looking for!!!}.

little man's room

Here's a peek into the little man's bedroom! As of right now the painting is done, the furniture is in and the closet has gotten a complete makeover {no pictures of that until I get it all organized}.

I'm on the hunt for a little side table {preferably round} to put in between the chair & crib. I plan on getting the lamp that matches the bedding set to put on the table for all of those late night feedings! Let me just add that finding a table that is reasonably priced is a lot harder than I thought it would be. Seriously, the price of a little side table is a bit ridic!! So, if anyone knows where I should look for a decent priced table let me know!! I was thinking maybe checking out Goodwill for a little diy project....or maybe Home Goods {because I really, really, really want to go there} but I don't know where the nearest one is!

Just going to throw this out there....the mobile being where it is drives me absolutely crazy!! They really should be able to come up with some kind of new mobile system that works better with convertible style cribs....it would have fit on the back but it looked.....stupid!! It was sooo freakin high that it practically went half way up the wall!

Yes, I'm well aware that you shouldn't use bumpers in the crib {I don't need anyone to tell me that} however, Keegan had them when he was in the crib and he turned out just fine. He also slept on his tummy with a blanket {gasp}......let's just say that I'm not one that follows every.single.recommendation that is thrown out there and he is now a healthy 3 1/2 year old. Plus, the bumpers came with the bedding set, what am I going to do just pile them away in the closet somewhere?! I don't think so!! {Ok, I'm done with all that now.}

I'm on the hunt for some cute nautical themed stuff to put up on the walls {which is a lot harder than it seems it would be}. After searching high & low I think I have found some winners {thanks to e-bay} but I can't make up my mind on which ones I want!! Once he actually has a name, I plan on putting that up on one of the walls too. I'm tossing around the idea of possibly some shelves also but we will see! I also would rather have dark colored furniture but that is the stuff we had with Keegan and besides some scratches from using it with him for almost three years, it's in perfectly good condition so we definitely were not going to spend the extra money on new furniture.

Oh, and those stripes....pain in the butt!!! It probably wouldn't have been soo bad if we didn't have textured walls but we do so we had to do a couple of extra steps. First, we painted all of the walls blue then Ryan measured out the stripes and taped them. After they were taped we had to take the blue paint and brush is against the tape, wait until it was almost dry then paint the brown. Doing the blue first prevented the brown from bleeding through the tape causing very uneven lines. Even with doing it that way there were still some spots where the brown bleed through so I went back with a little paint brush and touched up every.single.spot with the blue paint!! Needless to say, I was DONE with painting after all of that!!

How far along: 23 weeks 2 days

Total weight gain/loss: well...at my last appointment I gained 3 pounds {in two weeks} and today I gained 5.5 pounds {in four weeks} so the new total is 19.5 pounds

Maternity clothes: completely necessary!! my regular t-shirts that I wear around the house are starting to show my belly a little =/

Gender: BOY!! {completely reaffirmed with today's ultrasound}

Movement: little man is getting stronger by the day! he is moving like crazy & you can see it from the outside now!!

Sleep: every night is different but for the most part it sucks!! I have also gotten to the point where I can't sleep without my body pillow anymore.

What I miss: brushing my teeth without gagging, sleeping on my back

Symptoms: my lower back is starting to hurt a lot, is that considered a symptom?!

Cravings: nothing specific...pretty much anything & everything is fair game {hence the 5.5 weight gain....however I don't completely understand because it's not like I eat a ton more than I use to but now that I think of it, maybe I shouldn't order a large fry everytime we eat out!}

Best moment this week: getting to see little man in the ultrasound today!! The doctor said that everything looks normal but they still want to keep an eye on his kidneys so we are going to to another ultrasound in 4 weeks!! Other good moments: getting his room almost completed, Ryan feeling him move for the first time, Keegan talking to him, giving him hugs & kisses all the time!!

Yesterday I got an email from Sarah about udder covers. Well actually, she forwarded me an email about udder covers....the best part of the email? A code to use for a FREE one!!

Never heard of an udder cover before?! Well, it's basically a fancy looking blanket type thing to cover baby up with while you breast feed. long time no posts....

I was aked by two different people today when I was going to start blogging again....I was even threatened to get kicked out of our blogger bunco night if I didn't do a post!! {thanks Sarah!!} I will do a quick update on things that have been going on around here lately bullet point style and then I promise to do some posts with pictures and more details!

• little man is still "mr. no name".....who knows when that will change!!

• little man's room is almost finished...the painting is done & the furniture is in and now I just need to accessorize, which is turning out harder than I thought it would be.

• Keegan had a babysitter other than grandma & grandpa for the first time last week. My cousins Austin & Carter watched him for an afternoon and to say that Keegan loved it is an understatement!! The first thing he said to me when I got home was "why are you here?"....he was seriously mad at me for coming back home!! He hasn't stopped talking about "the boys" and what they are going to do the next time the come watch him!!

• I figured that I need to get my "tent" making skills up to par since I will soon have two little boys instead of just one so last week Keegan & I built one in the living room.....he has slept in it every night except one since it's been up!!

• I went dress shopping with Betty {my grandpa's fiancee} last week....I think it was a success! I can't wait to find out which one she actually picks!

• I read "The Help" over the weekend {literally over the weekend, bought it Friday & finished is Sunday night}.....so, so, so good!! I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for something to read! I found it a little difficult to read at first just because it is written exactly like they would talk but then I found myself reading it in a southern accent!! I can't wait to see the movie now!

• I made breaded {aka fried} pork chops last night for the first time ever and I have to say I'm pretty proud of myself!! I will definitely be sharing the recipe sometime soon!

• nap time around here has turned into "watching cartoons or a movie while laying on the couch with no toys"....and 9 times out of 10 someone falls asleep...approaching it this way has made "nap time" so much easier and no fits!!

• I've been wanting chili like no other lately but I can't get myself to make it when it's 100 degrees outside!!
